Day One Hundred & Forty Seven

its the roast night made from heaven. yuuuuumo :)

national roast day and i forgot to take the foto when we were actually eating the roast because i was too busy eating the roast (as you do). it's a bugga - but the roast was superb!! we had lamb and pork and lots of kids.

kids weren't tasty though - so we sent them off to the front room so we could enjoy a quiet red after LOL xc

Day One Hundred & Forty Six

surrounded by the innocence of fairies... on a sun filled day. how joyous :) xc

Day One Hundred & Forty Five

what is it about running into old mates these days? on the verge of leaving the wine centre from uncorked with carlos... 2 groups popped in ie richard & sam (in foto) and crawford (in another foto). we ended up all having a bite to eat together and shared a laff. twas good as i was feeling emotionally fragile i have to confess!!! for so many different reasons. old friends are good for these times as they just laff at you and tell ya to shut up. ahahaaaa xc

ps no comment re rich's pose. what a poser ahahaaa

Day One Hundred & Forty Four

so, here we are @ the work community information day. my colleagues here include Hoang & Luci. it was a success - but quiet. a good thing as i got to shoot off early to buy some new shoes!!! yaaah i'm a chick so why not?

it's an exhausting process getting ready for these days... and we do them as fully prepared as we can because being caught out not knowing an answer is certain death (LOL). when people dont turn up it can be deflating HOWEVER its also good because it just goes to show how much effort we had put in PRIOR.

(without speaking too soon, it appears the concerned & directly affected were obviously comfortable with our approach and how the transmission cable would affect them.

the common voice i have heard though is that residents and business' alike are appreciating us at least taking the effort to get out there - so many times these days they have to "just accept" the next road being dug, the next construction truck thundering past, etc with no understanding as to why. it seems most other companies and/or government agencies just simply DO NOT take the time.

it's a shame as they are the voters and they are our community. and we need to respect that.

i'm so glad we have taken the approach we have,. i can honestly say we will NOT have an easy ride next year when the construction fully starts and reality sets in... BUT they (the community) may at least remember that we did consider, we did check/ask and we are willing to listen ... again. fingers crossed :) xc

Day One Hundred & Forty Two

i'm almost ashamed to admit this is my morning mess... logging into my computer, coffee on the side, surrounded by post-it-notes, messages and "things"... etc etc

i was inspired by this song today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg6VXicZIQg (you so cant watch the real video - ack... these guys have mimic'd and i like it).

"Everyone gets scared. Stop & stare. Start to wonder why you're here not there..... Fair aint what you really need. Do you see what i see?"

this is funny: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoCt3NHGwM8BxD2H1669H3_ty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090305151758AA7dWwd

DO i ENCOURAGE MISS AMBURGER TO DO THIS?
hmmmmmm bad mummy.

Onwards...
Cant wait to see you xc

Day One Hundred & Forty One

im home and flopped on the bed. cooked the kids tea and then thought "phew", need two seconds. am up and at 'em again now tho :)

just got off the fone from girlfriend and we talked about all this online stuff. i say yet again - this is an interesting process for me. i have seen myself in a different light. i feel GREAT that i have said i am going to do something and am still doing it - no matter how hard it is on some days for whatever reason ie it could be that i'm grumpy, sad, busy, or just plain bored with myself and yet, i still have to show myself off to the world (not that i have millions of viewers however...).

it has made me appreciate privacy of myself, family and my friends, it has made me appreciate a world with less gossip/more substance, and it has made me appreciate the difference (very much) between what we want others to perceive us as, and who we really are. and not many people really get that.

i hope you do. xc

Day One Hundred & Thirty Seven

Relief.
This past week mainly, but also the past couple of months, have been hectic. And silent. Obviously a program such as the one we had to launch needed careful planning, tools developed, strategies in place and all the rest. So, we couldn't talk about it publicly.

This is obviously for my day job.

Here we are ready to walk Port Road, meet businesses and make sure they know what we'll be doing. Big task and we're still smiling. My feet hurt tonight though!!

I said "I'm gonna click this, then twitpic it via dabr so i can download it to upload to flickr so that i can blog about it. "

Anti said "WTF? Only you".

Day One Hundred & Twenty Eight

mum, why do you keep doing your twitter fotos with me in the background?

>>because ive been home all day and i have nothing else to talk about?

OK, that's fine.

================

health. it's important. and it sucks when we're sick. but she's a good spirited kid and she has been quite good about it all really (no sooks). she did try and be brave and get up earlier today but she realised just how crap she felt!!

having said that - she has read me out of house and home...!! LOL

=================

but during the day (when on LinkedIn actually) i noticed a friend post about an awareness day. so i asked him if he'd posted it to FaceBook (no) and if he knew about Newsmaker (no). The only reason i mentioned it to him was because he's from a charity organisation and they dont always have the big dollars for expensive media campaigns. Hey - who does these days?

He has subscribed to Newsmaker now and I've helped him create a FaceBook event, here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=98920887541

Anyway... then i watched a new YouTube channel and the girl was talking about social media with Jeremiah Owyang (from Forrester), who said "the thing about social media is that it's inexpensive".

No surprises in the statement HOWEVER social media does take effort to get it right. And that's the bit people forget.

Cheap as in "no dollars". Not so cheap as in "time".

Jeremiah should know - he confessed to doing his 2 hours of reading before work ie between 4am and 6am (and then sometimes on the weekend as well). That's dedication for you!!

Day One Hundred & Twenty Seven

(am home, the kid is sick)

so everyone has taken to quoting quotes of late. so i found a few to share tonight as well. rather than it stifling conversation with the usual polite "oh yes, I agree" we actually had a bit of fun swopping articles and deepening knowledge about a few things.

i enjoyed it (and i'm right in the middle of it so I'm off back to it )

Here's some of the quotes:
"Alcohol ads promote drinking" (quote) The Hartford Courant

If Barbie's so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

and as per the Hebrew saying "This too shall pass."

Day One Hundred & Twenty Four, originally uploaded by charlierobinson1966.

Quiet night at home with take away... had already had a quick drink with work buddies and then gone to the wine sale and collected my goodies.

We were joined by Dana as she's been at home all week and wanted to get out. We checked if she had the swine flu first, but it wasn't that serious.

The swine is certainly on our mind tho. Carlos is still overseas and with one confirmed case in australia now it's getting closer to home and a tad of a worry!!

Good health to all my friends, globally xxc

Day One Hundred & Twenty Three

This is Kate. She doesn't normally get a look in as i tend to photograph Toby!! But tonight's her nite. I think she felt a tad uncomfortable about it to be honest. She was skwarking a bit and really didn't want to be there. But I got a shot :)

I'm wondering if I will be the same on Saturday when we do this modeling gig for the lingerie shop in Adelaide Arcade. I've kept quiet about this gig as I'm a tad nervous. I've never stood in a shop window before with just me knickers and a bra on!! Although I'm quietly hoping they'll put me in the nighty (sexy one but at least more will be covered!! LOL)

Someone said today "it's always good to step out of our comfort zones". Yes, well. My comfort zone has to be well and truly in covered up land. I dont mind a bit of skin - all fun - but yeaks. Anyway...

Fortunately it's all for a good cause. My modeling fees are being donated to Breast Cancer and on top of that I have raised some money to throw in too. So, off I go. xc

Day One Hundred & Twenty Two

Trust.
Such a simple thing. But it can be really be very hard.

Take a haircut for example. Snip snip snip. Amazingly Rowan has let me cut his hair twice now. No questions. "Yep, chop away. You're the one who has to look at it".

The first time i trimmed. This time I went chunk chunk. Poor guy's almost bald!! But i like it. He's laughing. So, it's not a bad result.

I haven't cut hair tho since I was about 20, when I used to do my brothers. I've clipper ed, sure, but it's not the same. So, it's a brave move!!

Day One Hundred & Twenty One

Hapi Birfday Monnie - it's her 21st!!

Yep, I've coloured my hair. It's meant to be "dark blonde". I think it's more like "dark brown".

@work : spent half the day sorting through what project management roles and responsibilities we have across the organisation. full on.

@home work : worked out the back end of a complex online retail / wholesale / stock control catalogue engine in order to help my girlfriend keep her website up to date. the process started last nite and i got there tonight. success!! i wont be beaten by the techos LOL

loves gartners comment in a report i read today: "programmers and techos are from neptune, social scientists are from alpha centauri"

the report was actually really useful and something i wish to continue to pursue with the corporate. i'll keep on keeping on (all whilst my hair grows) ... but i do wonder who the techo's think they build some of these CRM/catalogue/online websites for. perhaps if they had the pleasure of using their own crafted tools on a dialy basis, they may actually make them a tad easier to use!! :)

Day One Hundred & Twenty

@charlierobinson says hi to @spotrick

Where all this started today:
www.plurk.com/p/rm6ec

So I responded. But to do it, I had to take a candid snap on my fone. Upload it to Twitpic via Dabr, then right click to get properties, copy/paste the image properties into @spotricks response for him to see the image. Fairly clunky but I got there!!

Here’s my answer:

Took me back to my silliness when creating my own emicons (as I call them in brief)

Day One Hundred & Nineteen

It's sunday arvo. The kids are watching a DVD, Rowan is catching up on some sleep and I'm chilling and looking through my fotos. I'm feeling fragile it has to be said. BUT. It was so worth it. I seriously had a ball at the fair and I can't wait for next years now!! xc

Day One Hundred & Eighteen

Attended the Medieval Fair in Gumeracha. Seriously haven't laughed this much in ages. What with costumes and wigs and tin hats, well the mind boggles with how much fun you can have with it all. I've posted a few albums full of fotos onto FaceBook and some of the better ones will be added to Flickr. They just have to be shared! xc

PS I also TwitPic'd a few fun pics from the fair but then my fone died - so bugga.

Day One Hundred & Seventeen

Out and about after a BIG week. Usual starter visiting the National Wine Centre "Uncorked" drinks for a catchup with friends, then off to dinner @ the Maid n Magpie.

The pub befits what I will be doing this weekend ie off to the Medieval Fair!!
