acts of kindness. random or meditated. in the end what does it matter. helping others and supporting those in need or feeling fragile has become a dying breed. nt always - i cant generalise i know... but in our rushed and hurried world when did we loose the ability to stop and help?
and why do we look for calculated reasons behind the helfulness. i'm not sure and this will be as much as i spend on analysing the issue because i have things to do (LOL) BUT... it would be something worth fixing in the world.
we need more random acts of kindness, rather than just random acts.
keep smiling xc

grey hairs gets to us all.

Day One Hundred & Sixty Seven
well Ok. so this is different. i got home to my daughter lurking in the doorway so she could snap me as i came down the hall.
LOL. random.
go with it mum.
well OK. that's cool. turns out she was in a talkative mood. but perhaps i was more. id had one of those days when i felt like i could no longer communicate? i got nervous about a phone call i had to make at the suggestion of some one else (actually the fone call was to my CEO and it was an exec advising - so - yeah). it kinda went like "you aren't surely intimidated?" with the response "eeer, no. well, yeah kinda. i dont randomly call my CEO and say, hey dude how's it hang'n" ya know!!
anyway, it will be good. xc

Day One Hundred & Fifty Eight
attended the AICC CEO Luncheon today. felt pretty privileged to be going i have to say but the subject was mobile technologies and the speaker was Horden from mNet, who I met years ago and have admired since. i would have eaten the left leg off of a horse to get there!! to further make my day i was seated at head table with him.
woot.
i was as a guest of the Independent Weekly, so it's a big thanks to them.
and Horden did not disappoint. the presentation he gave provided a clear understanding of the current market in the advertising space... and how to integrate a campaign.
as corporate communications, whilst i'm interested in this advertising perspective - i am far more excited about learning how to "mobilise the workforce" and use mobile technologies to better advantage however i'm sure this will all come out in future speeches and chats.
as a social media avid follower i am interested in how we can better serve and interact using the mobile platform.
sitting with the Independant Weekly I was able to discuss how email newsletters, whilst becoming far more functional and glamorous in design - are becoming far less mobile ie you just cant read them via this interface. full stop. you get a bunch of code - unattractive victor!!
and when Horden was asked how many FaceBook users he has. he couldn't answer (well... most couldn't so fair enough) but he then said he was over it (FaceBook). well OK Horden, but please remember i personally reckon FaceBook has had a HUGE impact on how people interact using the mobile as a platform. AND the next big thing should getting some of the more sensible applications working BETTER via FaceBook on mobile. Because currently they dont... just think how many users and people would actively seek out their mobile fone then. woot woot.
it's a great tool to get people understanding. so i wouldn't knock it. just my opinion xc
Day One Hundred & Fifty Seven
OMG RADelaide can be so funny. we have so many identities. i love them all. they shine out amongst the sea of perfectness that we try to hide behind.
i saw this gentleman in the street and realised we even have our very own Bob Geldof.
seriously who needs to travel overseas? we have it all here. take a short break, do yourself a favour and just sit and watch the world roll past.
whilst on rundle street. xc

Help with Google Analytics
If you glaze over when I start talking about funnels then this note isn't for you.
However, I'm looking for someone/company/freelance who wont glaze over to provide about 2 hours consulting to me at my corporate about Google Analytic Funnels (how they work and how to set them up).
I'm expert level with the analytics tool and I currently manage several websites using it, however the corporate has a few targeted campaigns and I wish to use the funnel feature more actively to achieve specific goals.
Contact me via robinson.helen @ electranet. com.au
Thanks one and all.

Day One Hundred & Fifty
and no - i'm not fifty yet... but i know a couple who are and they're doing OK. as are the ones half our age. but we had some interesting chats about different stages in life tonight. and what they all mean.
to expand on this, it pretty much went along the lines of ....
in your 20's your setting stuff up and making stuff happen ... in ya 30's your settling down and living... in ya 40's ya unraveling stuff, sorting shit out and getting it all back on track (after a big rethink). it eventually works out from what i hear. sometimes.
but then there are those who have mid life crises when they hit mid life which is their 50's (think of balding guys with convertibles and you've got my mental picture here) so, im at a loss at to when we actually get it right? crikey mikey.
i reckon people in their 30's obviously have a top time.
can i be 30 again please? although hmmmm didnt someone say women were at their peak at 36? perhaps i should go there again?
or have i missed my boat. does it float? joyride... xc

Day One Hundred & Forty Nine
Yep, it's bad. ive been online way to much recently. a few reasons (grin)... on top of this (as you know) work has been busy. so, i guess its only fair to think that my eyes would pack in. they've done it before... and they've done it now. so, the eye shot is pretty much how it felt today. i took my glasses off this arvo to give them a rest - and pretty much blur is what i saw. so... here you have it right back at ya.
a blur.
of course all i did was nip down to the local chemist and buy eye drops... so here i am still working. typical... :)
but instead of a heap of typing... tonight i bring to you a bunch of old blogs that still make me laugh or hmmm whatever - i like them :)
